Against the AI — instantly, offline
The strength slider runs from about 20 kyu to professional level. The weaker levels are not a crippled strong engine: they use a human-imitating network conditioned on that rank, so a "8 kyu" opponent actually plays like an 8 kyu — including its mistakes. The top setting is full-strength KataGo with a real search tree.
Everything runs on your device. No server round-trip, no waiting, works on a plane.
Against real players
Ranked matchmaking on 9×9, 13×13 and 19×19, with Glicko-2 ratings, live and correspondence (daily) time controls, friends, challenges and in-game chat. Choose Chinese or Japanese rules before the game.
On one device
Pass-and-play on a single phone or laptop for two people in the same room, plus unusual modes: Fog of War, Capture Go, 2 vs 2, and historical battle positions.

- Both rulesets: Chinese area scoring with 7.5 komi, Japanese territory scoring with 6.5.
- Handicap 2–9 stones, so a beginner and a strong player can have a real game.
